Steeds vaker horen we over creepshots: stiekem gemaakte foto’s of video’s van vrouwen en meisjes op straat, vaak met seksuele bedoelingen. Deze beelden worden online gedeeld. Ook in Tilburg komt dit voor. Daarom stelde burgerraadslid Kim Mathura namens VoorTilburg013 vragen aan het college van B&W.
Wat vroeg VoorTilburg013?
VoorTilburg013 stelde zeven vragen aan de gemeente:
- Is de gemeente bekend met het fenomeen creepshots? Wordt hier lokaal al iets tegen gedaan?
- Is het tegengaan van creepshots onderdeel van de aanpak tegen seksuele straatintimidatie in Tilburg?
- Heeft de gemeente inzicht in de omvang van dit probleem in Tilburg? Wordt er samengewerkt met politie en handhaving om dit in kaart te brengen?
- Zijn er specifieke locaties in Tilburg waar dit vaker voorkomt? Wordt hier extra toezicht gehouden?
- Is er voor slachtoffers van creepshots informatie beschikbaar via gemeentelijke kanalen, zoals een website of een folder?
- Wordt er samengewerkt met scholen, jongerenwerk of andere partners om jongeren bewust te maken van de impact en strafbaarheid van creepshots?
- Zijn er plannen om op drukke plekken in Tilburg (zoals het centrum of stationsgebied) informatiecampagnes te starten over creepshots?
Wat zegt de gemeente?
De gemeente is bekend met creepshots, maar het is nog geen onderdeel van het beleid tegen straatintimidatie. Er zijn geen cijfers of meldingen bekend over creepshots in Tilburg. Ook zijn er geen specifieke plekken waar dit vaker gebeurt.
Er is op dit moment geen folder of campagne over creepshots. Wel werkt de gemeente samen met jongerenwerk, politie en andere organisaties om slachtoffers van geweld en intimidatie te helpen. Deze partners hebben aandacht voor actuele thema’s zoals creepshots.
VoorTilburg013 wil meer bewustwording
VoorTilburg013 vindt het belangrijk dat jongeren weten wat creepshots zijn en wat de gevolgen zijn. Kim Mathura: “We moeten jongeren bewust maken van de grenzen van privacy en respect. Creepshots zijn geen compliment, maar een vorm van intimidatie.”
